Our History

Best Behaviour K9 is a family business run by husband and wife Neil & Claire Losada.  Neil has worked as a Police Dog Handler and has a great affinity for dogs. The company first became a reality following the untimely death of Neil’s German Shepherd Mac who through his severe behavioural issues encouraged Neil to study dog behaviour and learn how to effectively communicate with them in a way that minimises confusion.

In the beginning friends and colleagues asked for advice and assistance dealing with their own dogs’ training and behavioural needs. Word quickly spread and demand for help grew. He began receiving referrals from local veterinary practices and eventually decided to offer these services to everyone.

Today

Best Behaviour K9 are now referred to by more local vets and pet services than any other dog trainer/behaviour specialist. Neil and Claire now has a team of specialist trainers who have developed their individual training styles based on Neil’s methodology and ethics of training.  They are committed to helping clients bridge the communication gap between dogs and their humans, so that all dogs have the chance of a happy and fulfilled family life.

We work across, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and all of Yorkshire and beyond.

Our Future

Best Behaviour K9 are here to stay, we have an incredible team, and some amazing clients.  Our dream is to help more dogs and their owners and expand our services further.    We have two indoor training schools one in Barnsley and one in Sheffield.

Best Behaviour K9 are also a member of the Federation of Small Businesses, helping us achieve our dreams and bringing new opportunities to our business and our customers.

Best Behaviour K9 have also been listed as one of the Top 3 Dog trainers in Barnsley, for providing consistent high-quality service in our area of business. Their review team either approved or updated our business listing using their rigorous 50-Point Inspection which includes everything from checking reputation, history, complaints, ratings, satisfaction, nearness, trust, cost and general excellence. And have also won the 2023 Quality Business Awards as the Number 1 Best Rated Trainer in Sheffield.
